Get To Know Me

My Story
Who am I? That's a question that I started asking myself at the age of 17. And after that, there was no going back. The next few months were filled with personality tests, journaling, new hobbies, self help books, and endless discussions with friends, until I stumbled upon the field of Psychology and decided to make it into a career. By far, the best decision of my life.
So now that I have a master’s degree in Counselling, does that mean that I have it all figured out? Of course not. Do I still have breakdowns? Yeah. Do I still have existential crises? Absolutely yes.
Although, now I know where to look when I want to figure things out. Now I know that it’s okay to reach out to people in the face of chaos. Now I can convince myself to let certain things pass by as they come.
I know whose number to dial, I know whom I trust and I know that sometimes I just have to hold that space for myself.
And it would be my honor to support you in reaching a place, where you truly understand what you want to know. Wherever that place is, however the path may be, we can walk it together.
Which Therapeutic Approaches do I use?
Which Concerns do I work with?
Theoretically speaking, my practice is rooted in the Humanistic school of psychology. I primarily use Person-Centered, Gestalt, Narrative and Internal Family Systems therapy. These approaches work harmoniously by honoring each part of the self individually, then seamlessly integrating them into a cohesive, whole-person experience. The elements of these approaches include Empathy, Mindful awareness, Holistic view of self, and the belief that each individual is capable of reaching one's own answers.
I emphasize on understanding the emotions of the present moment, and reaching out to the misunderstood, vulnerable, and scared parts of ourselves.
I also focus on my clients' use of language to understand their unique experiences. It is important for me to know why they use particular words to describe something, why they repeat certain phrases and how their words translate into their emotions.
Apart from using traditionally established practices, I try to be experimental and collaborative to make space for progress in new ways.

What do I do outside of my profession
When I'm not practicing psychology, you’ll find me wandering in some corner of Spotify or creating new boards on Pinterest. If not there, I’m probably curled up with a book, painting a tote, or swimming laps in the pool. Otherwise, you can see me traveling, writing, or simply staring into space.
What are my Qualifications?
I did my Bachelor's in Psychology from St. Mira's college, Pune and my Master's in Counselling Psychology from Indian Institute of Psychology and Research, Bangalore. In addition, I also have a certificate in Travel Psychology, a course offered by Mandeha, Mumbai.
